VALUABLE RETAIL SPACE MEETS AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN WEST LOS ANGELES
This project breaks new ground in a mixed-use space, including how the space is built. The design features 18,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, with subterranean parking for shoppers. Above the retail space, and separated by a residential parking area, are three floors of affordable housing units. It’s being developed in partnership with one of the leading organizations for affordable housing, Habitat for Humanity. As required by Habitat, the owner of a housing unit must help build it. This creates a greater sense of pride of ownership, helping to ensure the upkeep and value of the property for all its constituents. The parcel is located in an upscale area of West Los Angeles.
